Brief information about the faculty

Chairs of the faculty are staffed by highly qualified specialists. Currently, 60% of teachers have PhD and DSc degrees, titles of Associate Professors or Professors. 

The faculty has well-equipped laboratory facilities, which include automated railway traffic control laboratory, computer engineering, mathematical modeling, monitoring, bio-ecology, environmental engineering, hydraulics and heating engineering laboratories, electrical and fire safety, labour protection laboratory etc, with total area of 1870 sq ft . Laboratories are equipped with electronic computing equipment, teaching aids, personal computers. 

The scope of activities of engineers include: organization of freight and passenger traffic on railway network, planning of freight and passenger transportation, development of freight and passenger station processes, development of technical specifications for cargo loading and securing, preparation of uniform operating processes of stations and railway access tracks of industrial enterprises, process safety, industrial safety, occupational safety, assessment and certification of activities in the field of occupational safety, engineering protection of air and water, environmental monitoring, etc. 

Graduates work as managers and engineers of all ranks at the stations, in the offices and chairs of railways, and those who tends to project and research, work at the institutions engaged in the design of railway stations and junctions, research institutes of mainline and industrial transport.
