In 2003 the European Commission approved the TEMPUS project (JEP_24200_2003). Urals State University of Railway Transport was one of the partner organizations in it. The contact person is Professor Yuri Yalishev, vice-rector of Information Technologies, head of the department "Systems and Technologies of Information Security". The project is called "Information Technologies Curricula" for the specialty "Data Safety and Information Security" in order to prepare certified engineers in Russian transport universities - education systems harmonization in EU and RF. Project duration is three years (2004-2007).
